Biography

Dr. Shahid Khan was born in the United Kingdom and is an Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon. He attended two world-renowned universities in the United Kingdom, earning a law degree at Cambridge and then completing his medical studies at Oxford. Dr. Khan completed his surgical residency in the United Kingdom, earning his UK Board Certification in Orthopedics and Trauma in 2003, before completing a Specialist Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at prestigious spinal centers in the United Kingdom and the United States. He 15 years as a full-time Consultant Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon in Exeter, England’s Complex Spinal Unit, before relocating permanently to Burjeel Hospital Dubai in 2021. His practice is entirely devoted to spinal conditions, treating both adults and children and performing hundreds of procedures on all segments of the spine. When performed safely, he is particularly interested in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. Along with clinical work, he is an instructor for minimally invasive surgical techniques and specializes in training other spinal surgeons. His clinical expertise includes,  

  • Degenerative spine conditions of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine, offering anterior, posterior, and minimally invasive lateral surgeries
