The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Burjeel Medical City (BMC), Abu Dhabi, is a multidisciplinary unit that provides advanced care and life support for infants, children, and young adults with a wide variety of life-threatening issues, such as severe infections, breathing difficulties, traumatic injuries, and recovery from major surgery. Following a family-centered philosophy of care, closely involving parents and guardians in the medical team’s decision-making, our multidisciplinary PICU team works together with a full array of pediatric experts specializing in neurology, cardiology, hematology, oncology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and pulmonology to provide the most scientific and compassionate care. Our PICU has state-of-the-art equipment and is staffed by highly trained doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This gives children the best medical care possible.
