Dr. Ritika Marisse Coelho Consultant Pediatric Infectious Disease

Biography

Dr. Coelho is an American Board-Certified Pediatrician and a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician. She completed medical school at St. John’s Medical College, India, and subsequently pursued her pediatric residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Following that, she trained at the Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, Ohio. She specialized in quality, patient safety, and health outcomes and was supported for an additional year as a Clinical Scholar in Quality and Patient Safety in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. She served as Clinical Instructor, Faculty of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Ohio. She enjoys tutoring medical students, residents, and fellows. Through her clinical experiences, she has worked with general pediatrics inpatient and outpatient, emergency medicine, general and subspecialty surgery (thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, and ENT surgery), critical care (both neonatal and pediatric), hematology-oncology and bone marrow transplant, gastroenterology-hepatology with multi-visceral organ transplant, nephrology with dialysis/transplant, cardiology with implantable cardiac devices/ECMO and transplant, rheumatology, and immunology. As part of her clinical work and research in improving health outcomes, she specializes in antimicrobial stewardship, infection control, and informatics.
