Biography

Dr. Abu Baker Ahmed is a Consultant Endocrinologist who comes with 24 years of diabetes and endocrinology in adults, adolescents, pregnant patients and in cardio-vascular, neurological, renal pathologies. He has addressed many non-specific cases with symptoms of infectious, autoimmune, and unclear diseases. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, Dr. Abu Baker Ahmed worked as a Consultant Endocrinologist at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Abu Dhabi, and as a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist in various Universities and Teaching hospital in UK, including Blackpool Teaching Hospital, and Royal Victoria Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Dr. Abu Baker had structured specialist training in diabetes and endocrinology for 4 years at various Newcastle upon Tyne University Hospitals, UK. Following structured medical training and Research posts in the UK, Dr. Abu Baker Ahmed worked as a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist at different teaching and university hospitals in the UK and at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Abu Baker Ahmed’s previously worked as Clinical Research Fellow at University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and Specialist and Research Registrar at different Newcastle upon Tyne University Hospitals and Medical Registrar at Bolton Teaching Hospital.

In addition to his clinical duties, he had been actively involved in medical education at the Universities of Liverpool and Manchester. Dr. Abu Baker is also an author within the diabetes world; he had published and written papers, articles, and chapters in a host of important journals and books. He is also a peer reviewer for few journals. In addition, Dr Baker has made presentations to medical experts at a host of international forums as well.
