The Department of Urology and Urological Oncology at BMC is a highly specialized treatment facility dealing with the full-profile treatment of diseases of the genitourinary system, with particular emphasis on neoplastic diseases. It has a modern diagnostic and treatment base and well-trained, educated medical and nursing staff. The clinic is also specialized in the use of minimally invasive methods in the treatment of urological diseases and endoscopic and laparoscopic methods, which significantly shorten the time of hospital stay and recovery. In treating urolithiasis, modern minimally invasive methods (PCNL-percutaneous lithotripsy, URSL, and RIRS-laser endoscopic lithotripsy) are used. Transurethral electroresection methods with the use of modern plasma diathermy are used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or superficial bladder cancer. Voiding disorders are diagnosed with urodynamics studies. For surgical treatment of female stress urinary incontinence, we offer minimally invasive treatment with a urethral sling (TOT). We pay special attention to men's health, diagnosing and treating male fertility problems (varicocele) and erectile dysfunction (ED). Preoperative diagnostics, postoperative control, and chronic outpatient treatment of diseases of the genitourinary system like prostate enlargement or urinary tract infections are provided by the OPD Clinic. The clinic's staff is a western-trained, well-educated team whose mission is to help urological patients and run an efficient health care center.
