VPS Healthcare hosted an exclusive VIP Welcome Reception today at the Burjeel House on Promenade 63, Burjeel, underlining its commitment to global partnerships and localized, compassionate care.
The networking event saw the VPS leadership unveil the exciting next phase of its growth, while announcing a major philanthropic commitment to deliver support to those on the frontlines of conflict to by connecting care, scale, and community in health.
An interactive, engaging event that brought the who’s who from across the world for a dialogue on how we can improve the future of healthcare as we know it.
The day started with breath-taking asanas and practices for mind and body rejuvenation with renowned yoga guru Lokesh Hegde. This perfectly set the tone for an exciting, milestone day for VPS Healthcare in Davos.
On the heels of announcing Burjeel Holdings as a new company managing nearly 60 assets under the VPS Healthcare umbrella, representatives met with officials across the public and private sectors in healthcare and beyond to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
The VPS team convened two high-level stakeholder discussions as well. The first, ‘Hacking the Healthcare Education Ecosystem,’ highlighted how healthcare providers and other industry partners worldwide can enable the next generation of talent. The discussion also shed light on the critical challenges for health education financing and best practices in creating equitable, geographically unbound solutions.
To conclude the day, Burjeel House hosted a Foreign Policy-led, invitation-only dinner to discuss how the public and private sectors can work together to invest in the future of health. The event, ‘Future of Health in the Global South,’ focused on what it takes to strengthen and/or create locally anchored healthcare systems, particularly in those regions most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The day began with another refreshing session of Sunrise Yoga with yoga guru Lokesh Hegde.
Our morning roundtable on Re-Imagining Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in Healthcare gathered experts for a dialogue on the challenges and opportunities of PPPs in health services. The speakers discussed how PPPs can improve health outcomes and advance health equity in emerging markets.
Burjeel House also hosted a conversation on Strengthening Healthcare Systems in Sub-Saharan Africa, convening government representatives, industry leaders, and healthcare providers. The session explored solutions for mitigating systemic issues and infrastucture bottlenecks to build healthy communities across the African continent.
VPS closed the day by hosting an intimate stakeholder dialogue on Financing Cancer Care – A Lancet Oncology Commission, where senior level healthcare scholars and practitioners unpacked cancer prevention and early screening in low and middle income countries as well as how technology can leapfrog outdated healthcare systems in developing nations.

As Davos’ activities begin to wind down, a revitalizing yoga session with guru Lokesh Hegde kickstarted one of the most important days for VPS at WEF 2022.
The evening featured an engaging panel discussion followed by a reception on ‘Abraham Accords and Health Innovation: An unexplored vehicle for Health Innovation’. The session explored how the Abraham Accords can serve as a catalyst for medical technology advancements through international collaboration, improving the health of communities across the region and beyond.
The moderated conversation between His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE’s Foreign Trade Minister, former Israel Ambassador to the US Amb. Itamar Rabinovich and VPS Healthcare’s Chairman Dr. Shamsheer, brought out a constructive dialogue about exciting opportunities ahead for the region.
