Biography

Dr. Roger Haene has joined Burjeel Hospital as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon. He received his Medical Degree (MBBCh) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1999 and his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2003. He completed his FRCS (trauma and orthopedics) in Cambridge, UK, together with additional fellowship training (foot and ankle reconstruction) in Toronto (Canada) and Dublin (Ireland). Dr. Roger Haene has been in the UAE for four years, working in the Centre of Orthopedic Excellence and Level 1 Trauma Centre. As a result, he is skilled in managing many fractures involving multiple Parts of the body.  He is frequently consulted as an expert by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health regarding international patient care. He has published in respected orthopedic scientific journals, is a regular speaker at international conferences, and is up-to-date with the latest evidence-based knowledge and surgical techniques. His foot and ankle scope of practice includes,  

  • Foot deformity correction
  • Sports reconstruction (including ankle arthroscopy, tendon, and ligament reconstruction)
