Biography

Dr. Atta Ghassan Atta Al Khaznaji received his medical education and MBChB at Al Nahrain University, Iraq, in 1994 and was awarded the Iraqi Board in Neurology (FICMS) by the Iraqi Commission for Medical Specializations in 2002. In 2005, Dr. Atta went to the United Kingdom, where he was trained in Neurosciences at Charing Cross Hospital and then in Neurosciences and Neurological Rehabilitation at Queen’s Medical Center, Nottingham University Hospital, and Nottingham City Hospital. In addition to his medical practice at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and Queen Square Hospital, London, he also attended the Pediatric Neurology Clinic at Hammersmith Hospital, UK, where he handled cases of children with muscular dystrophies. Dr. Atta began his medical career in various teaching government hospitals in Iraq. Then, in 2006, he moved to the UAE to continue his neurology practice in well-known private and government healthcare facilities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Al Ain. During his career, he became a co-examiner and lecturer to undergraduate medical students. Dr. Atta has been at Burjeel Hospital since 2013. Dr. Atta has participated in various conferences held in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, and Iraq. Currently, he is a Member of the Emirates Medical Association, Emirates Neurology Society, and Iraq Medical Association. His field of experience covers neurology subspecialties, including migraine and headache disorders, dizziness and vertigo, facial pain and weakness, seizure disorders and epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating disorders of the nervous system, extrapyramidal disorders, including tremors, parkinsonism, Parkinson’s disease, gait disturbance and imbalance, neck and back pain, as well as peripheral neuropathy and myopathy. In addition to managing and rehabilitating brain stroke and other neurological disorders.
